Discover our Sonoma Grenache
Some wines whisper. Grenache speaks in full sentences. With warmth, depth, and just the right amount of flavor. At Idle Cellars, our Sonoma Grenache is more than a varietal; it’s a muse. It’s how we found our voice.

Experience our unique Sonoma Grenache
Sourced from the sustainably farmed Kick Ranch Vineyard in the Fountaingrove District of Sonoma County, our Grenache thrives in well-drained soils under warm days and cool evenings. This balance allows the grapes to ripen slowly and retain their signature freshness and complexity.
We age the wine for 18 months in neutral French oak barrels, previously used for Grenache, allowing the fruit to shine without overbearing influence. The result? A layered, soulful red that carries both energy and elegance.

A Grenache memory... Since 2009
“Our 2009 Grenache was our first Grenache vintage. Visiting the vineyard quite often through the year, we drank Grenache from a few wineries from Sonoma, Spain, and France to determine the kind of style, flavors, and texture we were really into. Deep diving into the magical world of Grenache, the world’s most planted varietal, allowed us to craft what we find to be a glorious story through the senses.” — Ari Heavner
What Sonoma Grenache truly means to us...
“One of my first memorable wines that gave me that ah ha moment was a 1988 Chateau de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Made mostly from Grenache grapes, it transported me through the cobblestone streets of a medieval European village where the fog kissed the light poles, flavors and textures that were all new to my pallet.” — Ben Larks
That memory is what anchors every bottle we release. Whenever you’re sipping our latest Grenache vintage, you’re drinking a wine made with passion, and a lot of time on vineyard dirt.
