April Bottling

We love to bottle our wine.  It is one of the greatest pleasures as a winemaker to bottle as it brings to a close the long period of aging in barrel.  It is the final stage of a two year process (for red wines).  This years April bottling was filled with 3 different varietals and 2 vintages.  We bottled 95 cases of 2009 Idle Cellars Grenache sourced from Kick Ranch.  With an 8% blend of Syrah from the same year this is our version of a Pinot.  Placed in an older designed bottle; the Julio Monte (a bottle we luckily found one remaining pallet of glass in a glass warehouse) the packaging and the juice feel original.  We also bottled 130 cases of the 2009 Idle Cellars Syrah.  The fruit was sourced from Ladi's Vineyard.  This is the same vineyard we sourced the 07 Syrah from.  With a splash of Grenache to add slight strawberry flavors, this wine is going to be just as good as previous vintages with a tinge of something new.  The final wine we bottled was the 2010 Idle Cellars Viognier.  Sourced from the upper most vineyard at Kick Ranch, this pineapple flavored white wine is going to be showing people a good time all summer.  With very little sulfur added, we are going to release it as soon as possible.  With all the partners working the bottling line everything went super smooth.  As we finish off the last of the 07 Syrah and 08 sangiovese we look forward to moving into the 09's.
